EUROPE ARRIVAL GUIDE
Milan Malpensa Airport Transfer Guide: Train, Taxi & Arrival Planning
Milan has several airports, so first confirm that your itinerary actually arrives at Malpensa. Then compare the flight price with the cost and practicality of reaching your final address.
Milano Centrale
Malpensa Express services connect the airport with Milan’s main central railway station.
Milano Cadorna
A separate Malpensa Express service links the airport with Cadorna, which can suit some city-centre destinations better.
Taxi / car
Road transfer may be more practical for groups, heavy luggage or addresses away from the main rail corridors.
Malpensa Express rail options
Trenord states that Malpensa Express connects both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 with central Milan, including services to Milano Centrale and Milano Cadorna.
Check current Malpensa Express services before travel for live times, stops and fares.
Choose the city station that fits the rest of the trip
Do not compare airport trains by journey time alone. Consider where your hotel, onward rail departure or meeting is located. Cadorna may suit one traveller while Centrale may be better for another.
When road transport can be worth more
- You are travelling with several people who can share the cost.
- You have bulky or multiple bags.
- Your destination is poorly connected to the airport rail stations.
- Your arrival is late enough that a simple door-to-door transfer is more practical.
Remember the exact airport
Milan flight searches can show more than one airport serving the region. Always check the airport code on the itinerary before comparing transfers. This guide is specifically for Malpensa (MXP).
