Kuwait Airport Transport Guide: Taxi, Bus & Arrival Planning
Ground transport is part of the real price of a flight. Kuwait International Airport publishes official airport taxi fares by destination area and public bus information, allowing travellers to estimate the arrival cost before booking.
Airport taxi fares
Kuwait International Airport currently publishes airport taxi fares by destination area. The official table ranges from lower fares for nearby areas to higher fixed amounts for more distant destinations. For example, Kuwait City and Salmiya are included in the airport’s KD 8 destination group at the time of review.
Because destination groupings and fares can change, use the airport’s current table rather than relying on an old blog or screenshot.
Public bus options
The airport currently lists three Kuwait Public Transport Company routes serving the airport: 13, 99 and 501. Published fares are 250 fils on route 13, 250–300 fils on route 99, and 250 fils on route 501. The airport states that the published bus operation runs from 04:30 to 23:45.
A bus can be much cheaper than a taxi, but compare convenience as well as fare. If you are carrying several bags, travelling as a group or arriving outside the published bus hours, a taxi may be the more practical choice.
Arrival planning before booking
- Check the scheduled arrival time against current bus operating hours.
- Identify your final destination area in the official taxi table.
- For groups, compare the taxi cost per person rather than only the total fare.
- Add the airport transfer to your flight price before deciding which itinerary is cheaper.
